Vivian Romo Cisneros Jr.

Vivian Romo Cisneros Jr, 93, born April 3,1931 in Houston, Tx lost his battle with dementia on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 and passed peacefully from his life and into the arms of his Lord and Savior at his home.

He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Lupe Martinez Cisneros, and Blessed with three children, Vivian Lynn Cisneros Hemphill (Don), Ralph Edward Cisneros (Julie) and Michael Anthony Cisneros (Carolyn); three grandchildren, Ericka Lynn Cisneros, Adam Douglas Hemphill (Shelbi), Isabella Cisneros; and two great-grandchildren, Mason Douglas Hemphill and Lucy Ann Hemphill.

He was preceded in death by his father, Vivian Balli Cisneros Sr.; mother, Maria Romo Cisneros and siblings, Antonio Cisneros (Connie); Alberto Romo Cisneros (Virginia); Bernard Romo Cisneros; Eulalia Espinosa (John); Anita Cisneros Rivera (Louis). He is survived by his sister-in-law, Socorro Cisneros.

After graduating from Milby High School, where he met the love of his life, he joined the US Navy. He served on the USS Henderson during the Korean War. Upon his return from the service he married Lupe Martinez on November 8th, 1953, they were married for 71 years. He enjoyed playing golf and they both enjoyed going to the casinos. Win or Lose, He Loved His Astros! When you would call him and ask him “How are you doing,” he would always reply with, “Great, I’m Doing Fine.”

Vivian was a man of faith, high integrity and strong convictions. He loved his Lord and Savior and cherished his family who were his pride and joy. Vivian’s family meant the world to him and what he would consider his greatest accomplishment. His family and many friends will miss his huge smile, love for life, his sense of humor and his strong, firm handshakes.

Our family would like to recognize Vivian’s many caregivers from Aegis Senior Care Group and AccentCare as well as the VA doctors and nurses.

A visitation for Vivian will be held Thursday, March 20, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. A rosary will occur Thursday, March 20, 2025 from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. A funeral mass will occur Friday, March 21, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church, 11011 Hall Rd, Houston, TX 77089. A committal service will occur Friday, March 21, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:55 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale St, Houston, TX 77023.
