

On December 16, 1965, Walter Isreal Gay III was born in Houston, Texas to Walter and Katie Gay. He was the 1st of two children born to this union. He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Sunlight Baptist Church in Houston, Texas. His final church home was The Church Without Walls.
He attended Forest Brook High School and graduated in 1984. He went on to attend Houston Community College where he studied auto body mechanic. He spent most of his adult life working as a shipping/receiving coordinator for several Fortune 500 companies. He quickly mastered all aspects of his job, receiving employee recognition awards for his exceptional performance and service commitment. He was well-respected by his coworkers and managers as a valuable part of the team.
Walter enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was affectionately known as “Uncle Bobby” to his nieces and nephews. His grandson called him, “Pappaw”. He also loved cars, especially antiques. In his spare time, he built model cars, attended area car shows and maintained his own car collection.
In 2014, he married Johnnie Michelle Brownlow.
He departed this life on June 21, 2022. He is proceeded in death by his parents Walter and Katie Gay.
He is survived by his loving wife, (Michelle), daughter, Megan Lewis, one sister, Madelene Williams (David), Nieces and nephews: Ra’Van Williams, Andrew Williams, Andrea Perkins (Antonio), David Williams Jr., and grandson, Harrison Mosley. Three aunts: Irene Braxton, Alberta Jackson, and Essie Jefferson. Two uncles: John Marshall Sr. (Audrey) and Henry Newman, and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
