David was born to Spillman and Betty Browne, August 10, 1936, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. His family moved to Houston, Texas, where David graduated from Lutheran High School and attended Lee College. In 1969, he married Barbara Sudduth, and they had one child.
David is survived by his daughter Caron Norton and his step-children: Alan Karl and wife Regina, Tim Karl and wife Adele, Cindy Blaylock, and daughter-in-law Pamela Karl; his grandchildren: Chris Norton and wife Celeste, Kenny Norton, and Adam Norton and wife Brianna; step-grandchildren: Ashley Shoffner and husband Cameron, Austin Karl, Amy Clee and husband Alex, Justin Karl, Nathan Karl, Cody Karl and wife Meghan, Katie Thorne and husband Andy, and Coleman Blaylock and wife Shelby; great-grandchildren: Nathalia and Gabrielle Norton, and Cameron Norton; step-great-grandchildren: Avery and Zoey Shoffner, Judah Clee, Minna Karl, Myla Thorne, and Scarlett Blaylock. David also leaves to cherish his memory his sister Theron Lindsay and husband John, and his nephew Mark Lindsay.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife Barbara Sudduth, his second wife Lana Louvier; step-sons Tommy Karl and Terry Karl; step-son-in-law Curtis Blaylock; step-granddaughter Anita Elaine Blaylock.
David was a devoted husband to Lana, and after working several years in the landscaping business, he retired to spend more time with her and the grandkids. David, affectionately known as “Poppy,” especially loved taking the grandchildren camping and fishing (his favorite hobby). He also enjoyed gardening.
A Celebration of Life for David is scheduled for Thursday, December 15, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 7250 Harrisburg Boulevard, Houston, Texas. Following this Mass will be the Interment at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Avenue, Houston, Texas. Reverend Henry B. Walker will officiate the ceremonies.
