William Carey Franklin Sr.

He was born November 10, 1929 in Dallas, Texas to Felix and Mabel Franklin. Shortly after his birth the family moved to Houston, Texas. He attended Hamilton Jr. High and then Regan High School. In 1949 he met and married the love of his life, Christine Caruso on January 15th 1949. To this union they brought 3 children Bill Jr., Linda and Susan.

He had a life long career in the glazing industry and a charter member of Houston local # 1778 in 1953. He owned and operated Franklin Glass till retirement at the age of 80. After retirement he spent countless weekends at his beloved farm in Crockett, Texas.

He is survived by his wife of 73 years Christine Caruso Franklin, children: WC Franklin, Jr.(Kay), Linda Thurman and Susan Begnaud (Ricky). Grandchildren: Kristy Thurman, Matthew C. Franklin, John Stavinoha, William S. Franklin and Beau James Begnaud. brother: Donald Franklin(Virginia). Life long friend and brother Gene Stallings. Special nieces: Mary Smith, JoAnn Mosser, Deborah Pitts and Sharon Griffin. Special nephews: Bryan Franklin and Michael Franklin. Special neighbor of 54 years Mary Hudson and family. He is preceded in death by his parents Mabel Reno Franklin and Felix House Franklin. brother: Joe Franklin, sisters: Charlene Dougherty and Launa Robinson.
