William L. McDonald

William L. Mc Donald, age 86, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 1, 2010. He was born August 23, 1924 in Port Arthur, Texas to Mr. & Mrs. John William McDonald. He served in the Navy for four years before completing college at Sam Houston State University. It was on campus where he met the love of his life in a coffee shop. He married Dorothy (Dottie) Miller in May 1948 and had two daughters, Diane and Denise. Mac was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend that brought much joy and laughter to everyone that knew him. He loved his God, his family, his extended family, his church family and his friends. He was an active member of West University Baptist Church and loved being the treasurer of his Sunday School class, The King’s Men.

Mac leaves his devoted wife of 62 years, Dottie, daughter Diane Klinkerman and her husband Harvey, daughter Denise Fuchs and her husband Jim, grandchildren, Paige Gilbert and her husband Rob, Liesl Klinkerman, Heidi Klinkerman, Karis Fuchs, and great-grandson Trey Gilbert. A private graveside and burial will be held prior to a memorial service at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 4, 2010 at West University Baptist Church, 6218 Auden, Houston, Texas 77005. A reception will follow in the Welcome Center.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Senior Adult Ministry of West University Baptist Church or to the American Heart Association. The family wishes to thank Home Health Care and Houston Hospice for the loving care given to Mac during his illness.
