William C. Weir

William C. Weir "Bill", age 87, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2011. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, William C. Weir, Sr. and Fannie Mae Kelton Weir, his beloved wife, Marie Benoit Weir, and his brother, Eugene Weir.Survivors include his son, Rick E. Weir and wife Janet Despot; daughter, Jackie Weir Childress and husband Joseph; grandchildren: Kathleen Childress, Stephanie Childress, Katie Weir, William Weir and Julia Weir.

Mr. Weir was born in Cuero, TX and was a lifelong resident of Houston. During World War II, he served in the Army Air Force in the Pacific. After the war, he joined the Navy Reserve. Bill retired from Armour and Canagra after many years of service as a regional manager. He also volunteered at All Saints Catholic Church and at Timbergrove neighboorhood protection program in addition to being a member of Masonic Lodge, Shrine Legion of Honor, VFW, and the Elks. Mr. Weir taught us how to live fully and laugh hard.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful caregivers of Carolyn's Special Care for their compassionate care; as well as to the wonderful neighbors and friends who were so helpful to his family.

Visitation will be 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. with Bill 's Celebration of Life at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 in the Chapel of Earthman Resthaven, 13102 North Freeway, Houston, TX 77060. Interment will be private.
