Wilma Jean Roach Carlile was born in Osage City, Kansas on Feb. 5, 1933 to William Howard and Pearl Lee Roach. The family returned to Texas soon thereafter and she lived most of her life in the Houston area. She was the youngest of six children - Ray, Marshall, Kenneth, Howard and Nora Pearl. She adored her parents and her older siblings and had many wonderful stories about growing up in such a large and loving family.
She married Billy Earl Carlile in 1950 and they had two children Kay Lynn and Billy Howard.
Mom worked her entire adult life, mainly as an Office Manager in the tire industry. Her favorite job was with Firestone Tire and Rubber Company where she not only worked in the office, but would drive the forklift out in the warehouse to check stock. She made many longtime friends during her working years in the industry and did not retire until she was 70.
Mom loved reading, gardening, dancing, puzzles, camping, shopping, traveling, taking walks, rock collecting and Bluebell Homemade Vanilla ice cream. She loved playing games, especially dominos. Many epic domino games took place late into the night at Nora Pearl's house with much banter and laughing. She loved animals and had many beloved pets during her lifetime.
Mom's greatest love, without a doubt, was her family: her children and grandchildren, her parents and siblings, her nieces and nephews and her friends.
