

Chong Cha Leigaber passed from Earthly travail and ascended. She was dutifully attended by her loving daughters Chong Yim and Kyong Eggert. She was born 15 February 1945, and passed away in the early hours of 26 March 2025.
Her husband of 30 years, Kenneth Leigaber, preceded her to heaven September 26, 2022. Chong and Kenneth met when he was an Army soldier stationed in South Korea. She came to Texas and married Kenneth in 1982. They lived in many places as he served his country before eventually retiring to a home in Copperas Cove, Texas.
She is survived by her daughters Chong and Kyong, her Sons-In-Law Lucas Eggert and Stephen Haff. She was Grandmother to Constantine and Isabella Haff and Luke Eggert.
Chong Cha was a dedicated and loving mother. She was doting and generous Grandmother. She was a devoted wife and a devout worshipper at Cove Korean Baptist Church in Copperas Cove, Texas. She worked hard for her country on Fort Hood, Texas while tirelessly serving her husband and daughters.
Visitors to Chong Cha could always expect a warm welcome, a friendly hug, and a delicious plate of fried dumplings. She will be remembered by all who knew her well as an encouraging and willing friend who would gladly go the extra mile to help anyone in need. Chong Cha will be missed and remembered lovingly by all who were fortunate enough to know her well.
A visitation for Chong will be held Saturday, March 29, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Valhalla Funeral Home & Memory Gardens, 698 Winchester Rd NE, Huntsville, Alabama 35811, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. She will be laid to rest with her beloved husband at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Kileen, TX on Thursday, April 3rd, 2025 at 3:00 PM.
