Ret. Capt. Clarence Wilbur Owens

Retired Captain Clarence W. Owens, 97 of Huntsville, AL passed away on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at his home. Clarence was a WWII Navy Veteran, former Huntsville Police Motorcycle Officer, and Retired Captain with the Madison County Sheriff’s Department. He was also a member of The Elk’s, The Eagles Lodge and a member of the Huntsville Masonic Helion Lodge #1.

Clarence was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley (Shorty) Owens; daughter-in-law, Terry Owens.

Left to cherish his memory are his very special partner, Bobbie Lee Nazworth; two sons, Robert (Buster) Clyde Owens (Julie Juergens), Clarence Owens, (Terry (deceased)); grandchildren, Greg Owens (Mary), Lisa Reynolds (Henry), Elizabeth Kimbrough, Cassie Owens, Melissa Owens, Justin Owens, Rebekah Owens; great grandchildren, Collin, Alley and Haley Reynolds; special former daughter-in-law, Camille Owens; distant granddaughter, Wendy Shelton; distant great grandson, Evan Shelton. Clarence will be deeply missed by all who loved him.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will begin at 3:00pm with Military Honors to begin at 4:00pm at Valhalla Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 19, 2021.
