Dan Edward Tate

Mr. Dan Edward Tate was born on January 9, 1951, in Huntsville Alabama to the late Sam Edward Tate and the late Bertha Mae Hammonds Tate. He departed this life on February 17, 2025, at Huntsville Hospital surrounded by his family.

He accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and joined First Seventh Day Adventist Church in Huntsville, Alabama.

Later in life he joined the military (US Army). After being honorably discharged he move to California and later decided to relocate back home in Huntsville, Alabama where he remained until his passing.

Our brother had a keen sense of fashion and loved to dress. He was very outspoken person and always spoke his mind and sometimes was very comical!

His memories will be cherished by his son: Courtney Tate; grandchildren; Xzavier Tate, KeAsia Battle, Katelyn Moore and Tyler Tate. Sisters; Elsielean Allison, Bertha L. Moye, Sabrina K. Clayton, Pamela D. Oliveras, Tracey E. James, DeCarla M. Tate and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

You may visit with the family from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at Valhalla Funeral Home & Memory Gardens, 698 Winchester Rd NE, Huntsville, Alabama 35811. Public viewing will be from 6:00 pm until 8:00pm. A Homegoing Service will occur Sunday, February 23, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Valhalla Funeral Home & Memory Gardens. Mr. Tate will lie in repose one hour prior to service time. Interment, with Military Honors will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
