Deborah "Debbie" Spry

Deborah “Debbie” Spry, 71, of Meridianville, AL passed away peacefully on July 13, 2025.

Debbie Spry was born on January 26th, 1954, to Dale and Betty Soland. She was a devoted wife to William Layton Spry for 28 years and a loving mother to their son Samuel Spry. She was also a proud grandmother to two boys, Soland John Spry and Sawyer Layton Walter Spry.

Debbie will always be remembered as a loving mother, caring friend, and possessing a bottomless well of kindness and generosity for everyone who crossed her path. She was an incredibly strong woman despite her petite size and left a profound impression on all who knew her. She was always ready to help everyone she knew, from her days volunteering at Madison Academy to serving as an extra parent for anyone who needed it. She was the rock of her family, and her absence leaves the world a little less bright, but her light will continue to shine through the lives she touched.

She was preceded in death by her father Alton Dale Soland and her husband William Layton Spry. She is survived by her mother, Betty Soland; her sister, Lynda Kaye Soland; her son, Samuel Spry; her nieces, Rachel Smith and Leslie Harbarger; her daughter-in-law, Kayla Spry; her grandchildren, Sawyer and Soland Spry; her grandniece, Poppy Harbarger; and her grandnephew, Dalton Asendorf.

Visitation for Debbie will be held Tuesday, July 22, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Valhalla Funeral Home, 698 Winchester Rd, Huntsville, AL. The celebration of life service will be Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Valhalla Funeral Home Chapel, 698 Winchester Rd, Huntsville, AL.
