Edward Dyer Friday passed away on Saturday February 24, 2018 at his home in Huntsville, Alabama.
Edward was a man of many talents with a passion for flying. His last flight was on his 83rd birthday. He loved music and played the clarinet very well. Ed was known and loved for his keen sense of humor, outgoing personality and never met a stranger.
Ed was a 1951 graduate of Woodlawn High School. He served in the Alabama Air National Guard and completed flight training at Vance Air Force Base in 1956 and was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant. Ed continued flying as a pilot for Harbert Construction. In 1995, he retired from the US Army Missile Command, TMDE Support Group, Huntsville, AL.
Edward is survived by his wife Ruth of 41 years; daughters Jan Hayes and Pam Browning; stepson Marc Smith; brother Dr. Ronald Friday; 6 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday, February 27, 2018 from 12 noon until 2:00 pm with Services at 2:00 pm at Valhalla Funeral Home Chapel with Grandson Kevin Browning and Rev. Todd Noren-Hentz officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice Family Care, Epworth Methodist Church or to the donors’ charity of choice.
