Eugene Louis Mitcham III

Eugene L. Mitcham III, 84, of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2025. He was born on January 10, 1941, and had called Huntsville home since 1987. Gene was a loving husband and dedicated father who devoted his life to ensuring his wife and children were always cared for. He is survived by his beloved wife Patricia; his daughter Shirley; his son Steven; and his cherished grandchildren Seth, Ginny, and Gareth.

A proud veteran, Gene served his country with honor in the Army during the Vietnam War. His sense of service continued throughout his life with over 30 years of dedicated participation in the Civil Air Patrol, where he remained active until his passing. Gene built a distinguished career as a logistician that took him around the world. He was a voracious reader with interests in history and thrillers. His yard demonstrated his amazing green thumb and the care he gave to keeping his houseplants and vegetable garden going.
