Fletcher Folks, 91, lived a very happy and full life and his days on this earth mercifully ended today, July 6, 2016, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. He was the role model Man of, as Tom Brokow described, “The Greatest Generation”. He served his country, he got an education, and he experienced the excitement of being an engineer with NASA. He built a rich life of love and dedication to his family raising two kids (Pam and Michael) and married for 63 years to my Mom (Mildred) who never left his side until today. He loved life… playing tennis, golf and always working in that big yard on Louis Dr. I could not have asked for a better Dad. As I whispered in his ear every time I saw him for years I was so lucky to have the Greatest Dad on Earth. His constant smile on his face was rarely missing, and I know he will be looking down from Heaven this fall pulling for his Auburn Tigers. We will bring him back to rest in Huntsville, AL this Sunday, July 10, 2016, at 1:00 p.m., Valhalla Funeral Home. Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Mildred H. Folks; daughter, Pam Meinberg (Randy); son, Michael Folks (Cassidy); and five grandchildren: David, Melissa, Rachel, Madison and Sawyer. Dad, I miss you, and we will see you on the other side. ~Michael Folks
