Frances Marie Barker Hicks, age 93, passed away on May 1, 2019 in Huntsville, Alabama.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2019 at Valhalla Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Jimmy Jackson officiating. Interment will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of service on Sunday.

Mrs. Hicks was born on September 1, 1925 in Chattanooga, TN to Gabriel Barker and Eva Ingle Barker. She was married to Osbin Lee Hicks for 66 years, who passed away in 2007. Frances was a member of Whitesburg Baptist Church. She enjoyed working in her flower garden, going to antique shops and yard sales and traveling.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Hicks; son, Osbin Lee Hicks, Jr; and brother, Harley Barker.

Mrs. Hicks is survived by three children; son, Gary Hicks (Judy); daughter, Linda Marion (Andy) and daughter, Sharon York; six grandchildren, Cindy Bishop, Chris Marion (Shannon), Steve Fleming, Amy Fleming, Greg Hicks (Brandi) and Josh Hicks (Lea); four great grandchildren, Trey Bishop (Angelica), Vivian Fleming, Elijah Hammick and Hemingway Hicks; and one great-great grandson, Lance Bishop.

Mrs. Hicks was preceded in death by her parents, Gabriel and Eva Barker; husband, Lee Hicks; son, Osbin Lee Hicks, Jr.; and brother, Harley Barker. She also leaves to cherish her memory six grandchildren, Cindy Bishop, Chris Marion (Shannon), Steve Fleming, Amy Fleming, Greg Hicks (Brandi) and Josh Hicks (Lea); four great grandchildren, Trey Bishop (Angelica), Vivian Fleming, Elijah Hammick and Hemingway Hicks; and one great-great grandson, Lance Bishop.
