Gabriel Joaquin Thomas Nix

On Wednesday April 8th, one of the greatest men the world has ever known traveled on to his next adventure. He left always wanting to be a superhero, and he dedicated his life not only to helping others, but also to training constantly to become better in every way possible.

He studied martial arts, history, political science, various nonstandard religions, emergency preparedness, weaponry, art, comics, music, and folklore, among many, many others. He was as eager to learn as he was to teach.

He was a Goth/Industrial/Darkwave DJ who hosted many local events in an effort to cultivate a local alternative scene. He was a true protector, father, and mentor to so many.

He saw you to your core, to who you were beneath your own fears and doubts. He saw the strength and potential in people. He was a walking safe space who empowered everyone he loved. He believed in you, especially when you could not believe in yourself.

There are so many beautiful, wonderful people who are still here because of him. He leaves for us a legacy of found family and community enrichment. May we venture forward carrying the strength, love, and drive to improve ourselves that we learned from him.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment in the Old Flying Monkey Theater, 2211 Seminole Dr SW, Huntsville, AL 35805, on April 18, 2026, beginning at 6:00 pm.
