James Walter Commiskey

James Walter Commiskey, 87, passed away peacefully at Huntsville Hospital on Wednesday, December 8, 2021. His loving wife, Dorothy Jean Commiskey, and his son, Steven Michael Commiskey, preceded him in death.

Left to cherish him: three daughters, Diane Rogers of Hazel Green, Judith Imse and Sandra (Jeff) Dixon of Gurley; two sons, James Commiskey (Peggy) of New Market and Christopher Commiskey of Huntsville; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and several other relatives and friends. Jim or “Pop”, as most people knew him, loved to create works of art in stained glass, mosaics and woodcarvings. He believed in home and family and spent his time to provide for six children in a loving home. Jim Commiskey was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him!

A Memorial Service is scheduled for Saturday, December 18, 2021, at 3:00pm at Valhalla Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest immediately following at the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum.
