Katie Jean Cambron

She was married for 56 years to the love of her life, Thomas Cambron in Rising Fawn, Georgia, parting due to his passing.

They moved to Chicago with their two children in 1953 for a better living. They worked at Sunbeam Corporation for 14 years. They decided to move back home to Huntsville in 1967 to be close to family. Jean worked at Montgomery Ward for several years until securing a position with the Madison County Family Court, where she retired after 25 years. Her interest in politics led her to volunteer and support Bud Cramer's campaign for Congress. She was a board member of the Hornbuckle Association and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Cambron; father, Jack Hornbuckle; mother, Sarah Elizabeth (Bolton); son, Harold Dean Cambron; brothers, Leon, J.M. and Donald Hornbuckle; sisters, MaryBell DeArmond, Opal Keel, Alta Thompson and Melva Mayhall.

Survivors include daughter, Judy Emmons (Bill); sisters, Magdalene Hill, Juanita Stewart (Larry) and Velda Gray. She is also survived by her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Jessica Epps (Dustin) - children, Grant and Brayden, Jennifer Kostlan (Mark) - children, Gavin, Hannah and Chloe, Janelle Hardwick (Jeff) - children, Benjamin, plus 1, Ricky Rowan (Aletha) - children, Amber Jones (Kenny), Heather and Austin; five great great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Tex Mayhall (Marilyn); extended family, Mike Burke and daughter Kaitlin, along with many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2020 from 3:00pm until 4:00pm at Valhalla Funeral Home. Funeral Services will begin at 4:00pm and will be live streamed on Facebook on Valhalla Funeral Home and Valhalla Memory Gardens Facebook page for those unable to attend. Entombment will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens in the Chapel of Love Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Alzheimer's Research or Homestead Hospice, 1561 Lenru Rd, Suite A, Bogart, GA 30622 in Katie's memory.
