Louis Olen Smith

Louis Smith was born at home in Atlas Illinois to Verdie Cleone Smith and Evelyn Virginia Galloway on December 19, 1934. He had one sister Virginia Smith Hart who predeceased him. Louis joined the marines in 1953 and served for seven years. He also served in the navy for a short while and finished out his military service with 13 years in the Airforce.

In 1961 Louis met Linda Readinger and they were married on October 15, 1961, and remained married for 60 years. Louis and Linda had three daughters, Carla Jungen of Huntsville Al, Darla Dahnke of Huntsville Al, and Dawn Davis of Harvest Al. They have seven grandchildren, Ashley Bond, Brianna Bond, Andrew Davis, Sarah Jungen, Jordan Jungen, Madilyn Dahnke, Megan Dahnke and a step granddaughter Ashley Jungen Sparks. They also have three great grandchildren. Louis and Linda moved to Huntsville in 1974 after living in several locations during his military career.

Louis will be interred at Valhalla Memory Gardens. The service will be at 3 pm on Saturday, November 13,2021at the Chapel of Love with military honors. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Davidson Farms.
