Mrs. Burns was an educator in the Huntsville City School System with a career that spanned 34 years in various classroom and leadership positions. Throughout her illustrious career, she touched the lives of thousands of students.
A lifetime of wonderful, precious memories will be cherished by her survivors: six daughters; Maria Morgan, Gloria Hambrick (Bobby), Amelia Matthews, Linda Miller (Larry), Amanda Burns, all of Huntsville, Mary Rice (Lorenzo) of Madison; three sons; Claxton L. Burns Jr., Herman Burns, James Burns, all of Huntsville; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. “Mu”, as she was affectionately known, will be dearly missed by a host of other cousins, relatives and dedicated, loyal friends!
