Mary Pleasant Webster

Ms. Mary Pleasant Webster, 87, of Huntsville, AL passed away on January 2, 2026. She was born in Gurley, AL to her parents Lee Oscar and Lee Oma Webster.

Mary was one of sixteen siblings and was valedictorian of Gurley High School, Class of 1956. She lived in Nashville, TN for many years where she worked at Methodist Publishing House before retiring in the early 2000’s and returning to Huntsville.

Mary was a faithful member of First Baptist Church Huntsville, where her faith and fellowship were important parts of her life.

Throughout her retirement, she enjoyed traveling the country with Knoxville Tours and her church senior traveling group. In later years, she found comfort and joy in daily devotionals, reading numerous novels, and completing “circle words”.

Mary will be remembered by her brothers Nolan Webster (Connie Shainholtz) of Mission, TX and Harry (Ingrid) Webster of Gurley, AL along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, 8 brothers, and 5 sisters.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church Huntsville or Huntsville-Madison County Public Library.

Visitation will be held at Valhalla Funeral Home, located at 698 Winchester Rd, Huntsville, AL, on January 8, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.

The Celebration of Life will follow at Valhalla Funeral Home Chapel, also at 698 Winchester Rd, Huntsville, AL, starting at 1:00 pm on the same day.
