

Polly Putman, age 88, of Gurley AL passed away on January 13, 2026, at Marshall Medical Center North Hospital. Polly lived a long life loving her family and her pets. She was a member of The Church of Christ and spent a lot of lime volunteering at church.
Polly worked on Redstone Arsenal for a while before coming home to take care of her children. She lived a very full life taking care of her children and loved the many nieces and nephews that she had.
Polly was married to the love of her life Lewis for 67 years till he passed in August of 25. Together they raised three boys, Edward, Clint, and Jason.
Polly is survived by her sons Edward (Tracey) Putman, Jason (Kathy) Putman, and a daughter Lisa Hammonds. She also leaves behind a daughter-in-law Patti Putman. Grandchildren Mattie (Blake) Moat, Frank Putman, John Putman, and Taylor Putman. A sister Mildred T Stephenson (102 years old) and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her best friend and husband Lewis that she loved and missed dearly! Her beloved son Clint Putman. Her parents Evie and Frank Tipton. A daughter-in-law Beth Putman. Also, four sisters Alice Aycock, Ginnie Brigman, Betty Sue Nevels and Lucy Derrick. And, six brothers, Billy Tipton, Maurice Tipton, John Tipton, Jim Tipton, Tom Tipton, and Charlie Tipton.
Polly loved to sew and take lots of pictures. She also helped with the garden and all the flowers.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 19, 2026 from 11:00am until 12:00pm at Valhalla Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 12:00pm in Valhalla's Celebration Chapel. Pallbearers will be Frank Putman, John Putman, Taylor Putman, Blake Moat, Brian Calvert, And Jeffrey Calvert.
