On the evening of April 17, 2016, Patrick Javier Thompson transitioned this life from earth to glory. Javier was born in New Orleans on February 28, 1970. He was the sixth child of his seven siblings. He confessed hope in Christ at a young age. He graduated from Gulfport High School in 1988 in Gulfport, Mississippi. After attending Valley State University, he moved to Huntsville, Alabama, where he then attended Alabama A&M University and later received his Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications. While teaching at Alabama A&M University, he also received a Master’s Degree in Fine Arts from Academy of Arts in San Francisco, California. He met, on the campus of Alabama A&M University, the Love of his life, the apple of his eye, his BFF, his Beloved; Tesha LaShawn Archie, AKA “The Bad Wife” also known as “The Boss”. They became one on Feb. 14, 1996. To this union three loving children were born; Khadijah LaShawn DeAnn, Akilah La Shawn BellAnn and Hadari LeSean Xavier. His love was unconditional for his three babies that he claimed; he gave birth to without a problem and went back to work the very next day! He was a published author of “How to Love a Good Woman on a Shoestring Budget”. He was a long time student of Martial Arts and very skilled in Kung Fu. He enjoyed people watching...wondering, what’s their story? Playing basketball.... making claims that he wasn’t cheating. Watching movies; ripping them apart and sharing his latest movie idea.He would say, he bled black & gold and wasn’t ashamed to yell “Who Dat!” at anyone repping New Orleans. He was Uncle Pat, Uncle Javier and Gruncle, he would spoil the girls and wrestle the boys.
He love, love, loved teaching and mentoring his students as he was mentored himself by Jerome Foster BKA “Pops”. He, himself, taught and mentored many students, those in his class and many that were not in his class, but sought after him for advice in different areas and aspects of their lives, whether it was spiritually, financially or personally. He was truly, unyielding. He believed that AAMU was where God wanted him to be. He was a collage of life, laughter and love. Javier was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. Robert and Mrs. Laura Graham; his mother, Mrs. Dorothy Mae Thompson; his father-in-law, Ollie B. Archie and his best friend and sister-in-law, Marcella A. Scruggs. Javier is survived by his wife, Tesha Thompson, Huntsville, AL; two devoted daughters, Khadijah and Akilah; one devoted son; Hadari; his father, Mr. Beverett Thompson, Sr. (Mildred) of Wiggins, MS; two sisters, Beverly Williams (Wilbert) of Montgomery, AL, Francesca Thompson-Flagler (Charles) of Alpharetta, GA; four brothers, Beverett Thompson, Jr. (Kim) of Gulfport, MS, James Thompson (Kimberly) of Gulfport, MS, Donald Thompson (Vanette) of Lithia Springs, GA, Mitchel Thompson (Lori) of Yorktown, VA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
