Mrs. Ramona Estelle Harris

July 10, 1936 – December 8, 2014

Ramona Estelle Patrick Harris, 78, passed away Monday evening at Huntsville Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Ms. Harris was preceded in death by her parents, Arville Lee Roy Patrick and Orene Knott Patrick; her husband of 59 years, James Lloyd Harris, Sr.; brother, J.R. (Joe) Patrick; sister, Dortha Patrick Hurst; sister and brother in law, Iona (Shorty) and Fred Naillon; sister in law, Imogene Patrick; and brother in law, Ernie Loveday.

Ms. Harris is survived by her children, Barbara Watson, James L. Harris, Jr. and Cindy Gallman; 1 brother, Arville Patrick; 5 sisters, Juanita (Ettie) Allen, Millie Mohon, Sondra and Steve Lawhern, Janie and Howard Bennett, and Diane Loveday; sister in law, Edith Harris; brother in law, Charles Harris; 5 grandchildren-Chris Watson, Jason (Laura) Watson, Jamie (Misty) Gallman, Toni (Channing) Thomas, and Nick Harris; 4 great-grandchildren- Thomas Watson, Cooper Watson, Joshua Thomas, and Caleb Thomas; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Ramona was a very humble woman who loved God and family foremost. She was a member of Grace Baptist for 44 years and frequently sang in church with her husband or by herself. Family gatherings were most important in Ramona’s life, and any reason to get together for birthdays, trips, cookouts, or vacation was a cause for a family reunion when sometimes more than 100 people would attend. Ramona was dearly loved and will be missed by many!

You may visit with the family at Valhalla Funeral Home on Thursday, December 11, 2014 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. There will also be a visitation on Friday, December 12, 2014 from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm in Valhalla’s chapel.
