Mr. Teddy Donald Farris

March 30, 1937 – July 11, 2014

Teddy Donald Farris, (Don/Brother), 77, formerly of Toney, AL, went home to be with Jesus in Fall Branch, TN, on Friday, July 11, 2014. Mr. Farris had relocated 2 years ago after spending 34 years in Alabama. Don was originally from Lebanon, Indiana where he owned used furniture, taxi and restaurant businesses before moving to Alabama in 1973. Don worked for Sunbeam/Meadow Gold Bakeries' maintenance department in Alabama until his retirement. He was also co-owner of This, That, and The Other in Hazel Green, AL, for 15 years with his wife, Mary Lou (Sue) until 2010.

Don was preceded in death by his father and mother, John George and Ruby Dodson Farris; two sisters, Peggy JoAnn Spencer and Clara Spencer Philbeck; one brother, Johnny Farris; and two wives, Donna Venus and Mary Lou (Sue) Havener Farris.

He is survived by two sisters; Flora Belle (Charlie) Harper of Lebanon, IN and Janie Cooper of Austin, TX; six daughters, Barbara K. Harper of Salem, IN, Joyce Van Fossen of Lafayette, IN, Sally A. Rotzell of Lebanon, IN, Myra L. Newby of Bonner Springs, KS, Debbie L. Spenneberg and Beth Murphy of Indianapolis, IN; two sons, Teddy Donald Farris, Jr. and Mark Dodson of Lebanon, IN with Donna Venus; and one daughter, Carol Collins Lane of Fall Branch, TN and two sons, Jim Edward Collins of Fall Branch, TN and Sammy Culley of Toney, AL, with Mary Lou (Sue). He is also survived by a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was a loving brother, friend, father, uncle and grandfather and will be deeply missed by all. Our only comfort is knowing that he is home with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and he is not suffering anymore. Rest in Peace Daddy. We will see you in heaven some day.

You may visit with the family at Valhalla Funeral Home in Huntsville, AL on Monday, July 14, 2014, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM. There will be a chapel funeral service commencing at 3:00 PM with Dr. Bobby Burt officiating. The interment will immediately follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
