Thomas Harold Barnett

Thomas Harold Barnett, age 72, passed away Friday January 19th 2024. Thomas was preceded in death by his mother Junie Mae Barnett, Father Auburn Leon Barnett, Brothers Terry Leon Barnett and Mickey Wayne Barnett.

Thomas is survived by his wife Peggy Barnett of Huntsville, Alabama. Daughter Lori Turner (Jamie) of Gurley, Alabama. Grandson Brannon Turner (Terra) of Gurley, Alabama.

Upon graduating from Lee High School in 1970, Thomas married his high school sweetheart Peggy. They had been married for 53 years.

Thomas was the owner of Barnett Service Company, working alongside his Son-in-law Jamie and grandson Brannon. His customers knew him as a very kind, honest, and dependable businessman.

He enjoyed deer and turkey hunting and could not wait to take his grandson hunting for the first time. He was a member of the Old Stag hunting club where he loved spending time with his friends. Thomas was an amazing wood worker. He enjoyed making furniture and turkey calls which he called B-Tom Custom Box Calls.

He loved fishing with Jamie and Brannon and spending time with his family on the mountain, talking with Lori about Alabama football. One of his favorite weekly traditions was eating stew at Big Spring Café.

Thomas was a wonderful husband, a loving dad and father-in-law, a very proud PaPa, and a great friend to so many. He will be greatly missed by everyone.

Thomas felt you didn’t always have to say I Love You, “You should already know I do……”

Visitation for Thomas will be held Sunday, January 28, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Valhalla Funeral Home, 698 Winchester Rd Ne, Huntsville, Alabama 35811. Following the visitation will be the celebration of life service at 2:00 PM at Valhalla Funeral Home Chapel, 698 Winchester Rd Ne, Huntsville, Alabama 35811. Thomas will be laid to rest in Valhalla Memory Gardens, Huntsville, AL.
