

Born to Vira Kuznetz and Oleksadr Petrukhno in Kyiv, Ukraine February 1, 1966, family of engineers Yakiv was very curious student in his studies of Mathematics and Physics as well as Ukrainian and World History.
During his not that long life Yakiv was a very successful scholar – graduate of Moscow Institute of Physics Technology (Phystech analogy of MIT, MS, USA) with Bachelor degree, following Master, and PhD degrees in physics. His passion was studying of low temperature materials behavior in physics.
Having excellent business understanding and qualities Yakiv easily transferred to the business area of Information & Technology SAP Consulting in North America (Canada ,USA, and internationally) becoming a valuable consultant of high projects’ number, with decline of the Soviet Union economy.
Yakiv survived with his mother, Vira Kuznetz, wife Olga Petrukhno and sons Alexander, Paul, and Peter Petrukhno. He will be remembered as a loving, caring son, husband, and father, eager to pass his knowledge and values to his children. Till the last moment of his life Yakiv was passionately following events and developments in Ukraine, as well as providing support to the country.
A memorial gathering for Yakiv will be held Wednesday, May 31, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Valhalla Funeral Home, 698 Winchester Rd Ne, Huntsville, Alabama 35811.
