Andrew T. Palsa

Andrew T. Palsa, 94, of Indianapolis, Indiana departed this life Monday, March 15, 2021. He was born September 17, 1926 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Charles and Anna (Osif) Palsa. Andy proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. Following his discharge, he then served as an officer with the United States Capitol Police, where he once had a nice conversation with Franklin Delano Roosevelt. While in Washington, D.C. Andy earned his degree in business and would go on to work as an accountant for General Motors for 35 years, retiring in 1984. Andy was a kind and gentle soul who put his faith and family first. He was a longtime member of St. Luke Catholic Church and the St. Luke Knights of Columbus #14895. Andy and his late wife Maryann, loved to play golf and were members of Ulen Country Club in Lebanon and Twin Lakes Golf Club. He rarely missed a good poker game or a relaxing day on the golf course. He never missed the annual Palsa Golf outing and received many trophies and recognition for his dedication to the family. If not golfing, Andy was enjoying yard work and had the most meticulous lawn in the neighborhood. When winter hit, he would travel to Florida, do puzzles, get together with his buddies for breakfast and bake chocolate chip cookies. Andy was happiest though making lasting memories with his beloved family and friends. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Maryann J. Palsa; his devoted son, Dale A. Palsa; his dear granddaughter, Rebecca J. Palsa and his devoted siblings, Rita, Charles, Agnes, Teri and Robert Andy is survived by his beloved daughter, Debbie (Palsa) Kurtzhals and daughter-in-law, Sally (Parker) Palsa; dear grandchildren, Hannah E. Palsa and Steven A. Kurtzhals. Siblings, Annette, Phyllis and Ben. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am on Monday, March 22nd and conclude with prayers at 11:00 am. Mass of Christian Burial follows at 11:30 am at St. Luke Catholic Church with entombment then following at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.
