Nécrologie de Annie Pace
Annie Pace, 76, of Indianapolis departed this life Saturday, July 27, 2019 in Indianapolis after a courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma. Annie was born November 2, 1942 in Indianapolis to the late Maurice Joseph and Alfaratta (Summers) Schuetz. She grew up in Williams Creek and attended Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic School and North Central High School before earning her degree in educational psychology from Brenau University in Gainesville, GA. For many years, she and her husband DV and brother Maury Schuetz owned and operated their own insurance agency, the MJ Schuetz Agency, specializing in the construction industry. Annie had a natural ability to connect with children and was very active with her three daughters education and upbringing. She held leadership roles in their schools, serving as PTA president, a health aide and a tutor for many years. She was the enthusiastic and fun-loving leader of Girl Scout Troop 1528. She had many wonderful talents, and was admired by those who knew her best as being straightforward and to the point. She rarely turned down an opportunity to help others. She was a kind and gentle soul and was known for keeping things simple. Annie was an accomplished artist and musician. She drew, painted and sewed magically complex costumes. She played the guitar, banjo, piano and ukulele. Annie was extremely imaginative and she inspired her three daughters who are most proud to have inherited her creativity, sense of humor and problem-solving abilities. Annie was truly one-of-a-kind and she possessed a magnetic charm and sparkle. Annie loved animals of all sorts. She had a remarkable ability to care for and foster wounded and abandoned animals back to health. She was a talented equestrian- riding to the fox hounds with New Britton Hunt Club. She was happiest outside in nature at her beloved Cedar Valley Farm with her horses, ponies, donkey, dogs and cats. Annie was a real life Annie Oakley- she was a skilled sharpshooter at the Indiana Gun Club, an accomplished archer and a fifth degree black belt in karate. She loved to ride Harley Davidson motorcycles, swim, row as a master with the Indianapolis Rowing Center and play pickle ball. She was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority and the Daughters of the Revolution. Annie is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, DV Pace who was her best friend and favorite person on the planet; her devoted daughters, Michelle ‘Merle’ Pace (Mike Rizzo), Jennifer ‘Jer’ Pace Robinson (Martin Small) and Kimberly ‘Kimi’ Pace (Eric Sebian); her grateful grandchildren, Zachary and Skyler (Sarah Beth) Robinson who held a very special place in her heart; her dear brother, Maurice Joseph (Caryl) Schuetz, Jr.; her beloved sister-in-law Anne Pace (Robert) Koehl; her precious nieces Elizabeth Koehl (Jim) Renner, Becky Koehl, Reid, Audrey and Madeline Schuetz, nephews Jay (Stephanie) Schuetz and Tevlin (Alex) Schuetz and a host of grateful friends, several “self-adopted” daughters and countless creatures large and small.
