Nécrologie de Diana Lynn Fleek Cross
Born in Jamestown, New York to David Neil Fleek, Jr. and Patricia Bartling Fleek, Diana, her parents, and her sister Pamela Ruth lived in nearby Corry, Pennsylvania. Shortly thereafter, her family moved to Indianapolis, Indiana, and Diana remained in the Indianapolis area for the rest of her life. As she grew up, she was joined by her other beloved siblings David Neil, Julia Kay, and Lisa Ann. She attended school in Indianapolis, graduating from North Central High School in 1970. Diana also attended Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. One of her favorite jobs was selling specialty stationary on university campuses across the South and Midwest. Diana’s favorite times included sunny days on the White River and overlooking the natural beauty and wildlife around her home. She enjoyed traveling, attending antique car shows, and auto races … including the Indianapolis 500. One of her lifelong memories was attending the Beatles’ historic 1964 concert at the Coliseum at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. Diana had a zest for life and loved gathering with her family and many friends. Her family sincerely appreciated the special care that Diana gave her mother, in Patricia’s later years. Diana had a twinkle in her eye as she drove her red Corvette, and that twinkle continued with her Jeep. She loved being accompanied by her Yorkshire terriers Spunky, Little Lady, and Butchie. She was predeceased by her parents, David Neil Fleek, Jr. and Patricia Bartling Fleek. She is survived by three sisters and a brother: Pamela (James) Morgan of Greenwood, South Carolina, David (Nobuko) Fleek of Huntington Beach, California, Julia (Cory) Lupinacci of Wixom, Michigan, and Lisa Meador (Tom) of Indianapolis. She is also survived by her beloved nieces and nephews, who all shared a close affection with her: Patricia Ruth Morgan, Jacqueline Ann Morgan, Daniel Hiro Fleek, Jennifer Hana Fleek, Jessica Lupinacci (Austin) Dobbs, Kevin Andrew Lupinacci, Justin Samuel Meador, and Thomas David Meador. Cherishing her memory include dear friends Sam Boll and Janice Kitson. In lieu of flowers, please consider a gift to “IndyHumane”, the Humane Society of Indianapolis, which has been protecting animals since 1905. For more information, see https://indyhumane.org/.
