62, of Carmel departed this life on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at his home. Doug was born November 12, 1958 in Indianapolis to the late Edward M. and Edith C. (Chase) Williamson. Doug had worked for Jenn Air for many years before working as an engineer for CSX Railroad for over 22 years. He also owned rental properties and enjoyed maintaining his properties and getting to know his tenants.
Doug was a kind and gentle soul who was happiest being on a lake in his boat. Doug loved auto racing and rarely missed a NASCAR or IRL event. He enjoyed water skiing, snow skiing, fishing and making memories with his beloved family and friends. His sense of humor was truly unmatched.
Doug is survived by his loving daughters, Amy (Joel) Klemann and Ashley Williamson (Justin Ehret); his dear brother, Michael E. Williamson(Liz Bugiel); devoted grandchildren, Taylor and Ian Klemann, Makenna and Kami Brown and Brooklynn Ehret, dear sister-in-law, Carol Williamson and nephew, Stephen (Annie) Williamson.
Doug was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas R. Williamson; grandson, Eli Klemann; nephew, Christopher Williamson and three pugs, Emmy, Marley “Marleton” and Coco”Totos”.
Visitation for Doug will begin at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, July 27th and conclude at time of funeral service at 2:00 pm at Leppert Mortuary – Nora Chapel. Interment follows at Washington Park Cemetery.
