

He was born September 7, 1940, in Knoxville, TN. His parents were Royston (Ross) Tallent and Mary Dallas Tallent. He was brother to Carol Lou (Paul) Emerson of Knoxville, TN and graduated from Central High School, in 1958. He later earned a degree from Phoenix University.
He began military service in the US Army in 1959 and served through 1962 touring throughout Europe with the top military concert band as first clarinet and receiving the Good Conduct Medal. After leaving the military, he entered the private sector working for Motorola as an MIS Manager, where he worked until retirement.
He married Roberta Kamm on Nov. 5, 1966, in Chicago. They enjoyed travelling together and often took the family on trips to see various parts of the United States.
He was a former member of the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church Knights of Columbus in Mt. Pleasant, IA and later became a realtor in Huntley, IL.
He leaves behind his wife Wanda Tallent; three children, Joseph (Tammy) Tallent of Carpentersville, IL, Susan (Chris) Edwards of Indianapolis, IN, and Ross Edward Tallent of Burbank, CA; granddaughters Jessica Wilhelm, Renae Tallent, Destiny Edwards, Dakota Edwards, and Daley Edwards; and a sister Carol (Paul) Emerson.
He was preceded in death by his wife Roberta Marie (Kamm) Tallent; his parents Mary Dallas Tallent and Royston E. Tallent; a son Thomas Edward Tallent; and son-in-law John Francis De Salvio.
Visitation will be held at St. Alphonsus Liguori Roman Catholic Church, 1870 W Oak St, Zionsville, IN 46077, on March 6, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Alphonsus Liguori Roman Catholic Church, 1870 W Oak St, Zionsville, IN 46077, on March 6, 2026, at 11:00 am.
