Jan E. Marshall, 73, passed away May 3, 2025, into the light of eternity. She was born on March 5, 1952, in New Castle, Indiana, to John Williams and Betty (Williams) Ralston. She lived her life with passion and enthusiasm as if every day was her last. Although she grew up in rural Indiana, she was blessed to have the opportunity to travel with her son to many countries around the world. She enjoyed a life of peace and tranquility to the end, which was always important to her.
Jan earned her undergraduate degree from Purdue University in 1974 and was extremely proud of earning her MBA from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business in 1999 at age 47. Her most favorite activity, besides spending time with her son, was walking whether it was along the beach in Santa Monica, California, or Honky Tonk Row in Nashville, Tennessee. She enjoyed the simple things in life such as having a vase filled with Asian Lilies and deeply valued her friendship with a few close personal friends.
Jan always had a strong faith in God, attended Trinity Episcopal Church, and felt she was being guided through life by a stronger power.
She is survived by her son and good friend, Vincent N. Marshall, granddaughter Gracelyn, sister, Cindy (Lee) Evers; half-brother, Gary Williams, and step brother Ronnie (Jean) Ralston.
In celebration of her life, there will be a service at Trinity Episcopal Church, 3243 N. Meridian Street, Indianapolis, IN 46208. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 from 10-11 AM with a service to follow at 11 AM.
