Jerome A. Morin

Jerome “Jerry” A. Morin, age 83, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away at home on Monday, March 25, 2024. Jerry was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan to French Canadians, Alvonna and Simeon Morin. He grew up in a large Catholic family, as his father was 1 of 17 siblings and his mother was 1 of 14. Jerry grew up with 2 brothers and 3 sisters, each growing up learning the French language (their mother only spoke French) and how to play a musical instrument. Jerry played the violin as a young child and adolescent and had an artistic side to him that he later passed along to his son. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam war and was awarded a Purple Heart. He was married to Bonnie for 22 years, and they had 2 children together and remained friends over the years. Jerry worked as a salesman for years and eventually retired, after working 10 years in a manufacturing job with Carrier Heating & Cooling. He loved a good joke, playing cards, and more than anything, his favorite thing to do was spend time with his grandchildren. Jerry is survived by his daughter Sara Bartelmann (Doug); his grandson Oliver Bartelmann and his granddaughter Violet Bartelmann; his ex-wife, Bonnie Bourdeau-Morin; his sister Joan Graves, his brother Andrew Morin (Angie), brother Frank Morin (Mercedes), his sister Rosemary Gornowicz, his sister Jocelyn Robinson, and many nieces and nephews. Jerry was preceded in death by his son Scott Morin; his father Simeon Morin and his mother Alvonna Morin; his brother in-laws Bob Graves, Lee Robinson, and Ron Gornowicz.; niece, Debbie Posey; niece Pamela Morin and nephews Bobby Graves & Andy Morin. A visitation for Jerome will be held Wednesday, April 3, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Leppert Mortuary – Nora, 740 East 86th St, Indianapolis, Indiana 46240. A Mass of Christian Burial will occur Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 11:30 AM at St. Luke Catholic Church, 7575 Holliday Drive East, Indianapolis, Indiana 46260, with a burial immediately following at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, 9001 Haverstick Road, Indianapolis, IN 46240.
