Judith Carol “Judy” Hill, 75, of Indianapolis, Indiana, died June 12, 2023 of lymphoma. She was born May 30, 1948 in Melrose, Minnesota to the late Evelyn Jansen and Henry Jansen. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Jack Hill, and son, Tim Hill, brothers Larry Jansen and Bob Jansen, sisters Marilyn Eelkema and Joyce Slawson, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and their families. She was predeceased by her son, Chris Hill, and brother Jim Jansen. Judy graduated from Sauk Centre High School and the University of Minnesota.
Over the years she was much involved with her family, church, and community. She maintained the Petermeier family directory. She greatly enjoyed singing in the St. Luke Catholic Church choir. She worked for the federal government for many years, and had sharp technology, financial, and organizational skills. Judy was dedicated to her family, enjoyed gardening and book clubs, travel and simple walking throughout God’s magnificent creation, enjoying the beauty and identifying numerous plants and animals she encountered. Even as her health was failing, she maintained her sense of humor and respect for all creatures.
A visitation for Judy will be held Wednesday, July 12, 2023 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at St. Luke Catholic Church, 7575 Holliday Drive East, Indianapolis, Indiana 46260. A Mass of Christian Burial will occur Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at 11:30 AM, 7575 Holliday Drive East, Indianapolis, Indiana 46260 and available on livestream at https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/11329977. A meal would be provided at the church. In Minnesota, a graveside service will occur Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at 11:30 AM at Lakewood Cemetery, 3600 Hennepin Ave., Minneapolis, MN 55408. After interment, a gathering for a meal will be arranged.
