

Karen is survived by her husband Michael of Indianapolis, their son Colin and his wife Kelly, and grandchildren Chase and Peyton of Wilmette, Illinois. She is also survived by her brothers George and John and John’s wife Katharine of Durham, Connecticut. She also leaves behind her nephew, Jake Forline, and nieces Annalee Forline(Jen Hahn) and Kristine Forline. Preceding her in death were her parents, George and Ida Forline.
Karen grew up in Durham,Connecticut and attended high school there and college in New Haven. She covered her math education with an accounting degree from Indiana University, Indianapolis. She was an excellent scholar and was selected for membership in the business students honor society Beta Gamma Sigma in her senior year while also taking and passing the CPA exam.
Karen had been actively involved in women’s organizations at Marian University and with the Indianapolis Symphony support group. She was also active in the Lockerbie Square Quester antique organization, having served as their chapter treasurer for many years. In antique circles she was recognized as a knowledgeable collector and lecturer on Quippier poetry having visited their faïence facility in France.
Karen enjoyed her time vacationing with her Son and Daughter in Law and watching her two grandchildren grow up. She also actively supported her husband in travel throughout the US and Europe.
Karen will be missed by friends and family members whose lives she touched in her time with us. Those who knew her will miss her delicious homemade meals, as Karen was an exceptionally talented cook.
A visitation for family and friends will be held at Saint Luke Catholic Church, 7575 E. Holliday Dr, Indianapolis, IN 46260, between 10:00-11:00 am on Saturday, February 21, 2026. Visitation will be followed by a Memorial Mass beginning at 11:00am. Karen will be laid to rest in Durham, Connecticut on April 18, 2026.
