I've known Kristy since 1984, when we were freshmen in college. I was a bridesmaid in her wedding; neighbor when I convinced her to move to Arcadia, In in 1990; and when she could no longer keep her dog Shadow in 1996, my family adopted him until his untimely demise in 2007.  Over the years we shared a love of celebrity news, music, and movies.  We had lunch together at least once a month when I lived in Morgan County, and she enjoyed watching my kids grow up. 

One of my favorite memories of her was after I graduated from Ball State in 1989.  I was driving down from Muncie and decided to throw myself a party. I stopped by Pendleton and picked up another friend, then continued onto Kristy's house. The three of us went to The Olive Garden for dinner, where we met a cute waiter, who invited us to The Vogue for Quarter Beer Night. After a trip to the mall for more appropriate bar attire, we had a good time dancing and only saw our waiter once! At 2am, we left the bar and discovered it was pouring down rain......and my car was parked a block away. Drenched, we decided to crash at Kristy's house, and her parents were surprised the next morning when we all trooped downstairs!

More recently, I've been visiting her during the Indpls Christmas Gift and Hobby Show, or try to stop by whenever I'm in town, which isn't that frequent anymore.  Kristy learned how to text a few years back, and we'd keep in contact that way.  I introduced her to the coffeecake at the Christmas Show, and the last time I saw her was just a month ago, when she and her mom stopped by my booth.

 I'm glad you're finally at peace, Kristy. Life dealt you an interesting hand, and you worked hard to overcome it.  Say hi to your dad and Billie Jo for me?

I remember Kristy’s smiles, and her sweetness.  It was easy to have nice conversations with Kristy. I will miss seeing her by Judy ‘s site at Mass at St. Luke and her smiles. Certainly God has a special place for her in heaven.

Condolences to the family. Me and Kristy hung out we had a lot of things in common. We both liked going to the movies.
