Langdon W. Kumler

Langdon W. Kumler, age 85, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2021. Langdon was born April 4, 1936 to Joyce T. Kumler and John Coghlin Kumler in Toledo, Ohio. Langdon is survived by his wife, JoAnn Kumler; his son Langdon W. Kumler, III (Andrea); his daughter Donna E. Koenig (Matt); his son Taylor C. Kumler (Myra); and his son Bryan E. Kumler (Katie); his brother Daniel F. Kumler (Linda). Langdon is also survived by 7 grandchildren Coghlin, Charlotte, Neiman, Sarah, Reiley, Grady, and Camryn. Langdon was preceded in death by his father John Coghlin Kumler and his mother Joyce T. Kumler and brother John T. Kumler. Langdon was a 1959 graduate of Purdue University holding both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree. He was also a member of Delta Upsilon fraternity, and an offensive lineman on Purdue’s football team. Before turning his passion to youth soccer, Langdon had a successful career in the securities industry working for Lamson Brothers & Co., Merrill Lynch and Robert W. Baird & Co. His soccer “career” began with coaching youth soccer in 1978 and concluded with the United States Soccer Federation as Chairman of the budget committee. His accomplishments and contributions to soccer are many, including ten years coaching the Saints Soccer Club, Park Tudor Head Coach, inaugural Head Coach for Butler University Men’s Varsity Soccer, Met-Life Coach of the year for Region 2, and induction into the Indiana Soccer Hall of Fame in 2002. A visitation for Langdon will be held Monday, October 11, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 6050 N. Meridian Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46208, followed by a memorial service at 4:30 PM.
