76, of Fishers, Indiana departed this life Sunday morning, March 5, 2023. He was born July 3, 1946 in Sebhel, Lebanon to the late Joseph and Dalel (Abidaher) Rohana. He immigrated to the United States with his parents in 1955 with very little. His story is that of the American Dream which was achieved with devotion, resilience, and determination.
Marcel was so very proud to be an American and also very proud of being a Hoosier. He kept a newspaper route as a young boy and always worked hard for all that he achieved. Growing up here,
He developed and appreciated a sense for the true spirit of being an adopted son of Indianapolis.
He was a 1963 graduate of Cathedral High School before he obtained his medical degree. He was a skilled pediatrician who had a private practice and served the communities around Robinson, Illinois for 23 years and then ‘back home again’ to Indianapolis where he practiced another 15 years, retiring recently.
Marcel was true to his faith and family as he made sure to take care of everyone around him. He enjoyed regular trips to his winter home with his wife in Tampa, Florida and was happiest being with his loving family making memories. On Saturdays in the fall, you would find him glued to the TV watching Notre Dame football or watching the Irish live in South Bend. He was an avid tennis player who took pride in coaching his sons through junior and collegiate levels.
In addition to his parents, Marcel was also preceded in death by his beloved brother, Raymond Rohana in 2022.
Marcel is survived by the love of his life and wife of 36 years, Anna (Daou) Rohana; his devoted sons, Michael Rohana & Dr. Tony Rohana; dear brother, Dr. Rudolph (Odile) Rouhana; his beloved niece and nephew, Nathalie Rouhana, PhD, Rudy (Spring) Rouhana as well as his great-nephew, Noah Rouhana and a host of grateful patients, colleagues and friends through the years.
Visitation for Marcel will be from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm on Wednesday, March 8th at Leppert Mortuary – Nora Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 9th with eulogies beginning at 10:50 am prior to Mass at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Carmel. Interment follows at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Dr. Rohana’s name are suggested to Cathedral High School or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.leppertmortuary.com for the Rohana family.
