Mildred “Milly” J. Risch, 89, passed away peacefully at home on June 28, 2020. She was born in Indianapolis and was a graduate of Ben Davis High School. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mary Forsha and brothers, John and Charles Edward. Prior to her marriage, she was an Executive Secretary for the Marmon-Herrington Company of Indianapolis. A disciplined person, Milly made a career of being a wife, mother and homemaker. She was the one that “made the home” for her husband and children. Milly was a highly skilled cook and won recognition as “Cook of the Week” in Marion County as published in an issue of the Lawrence Topics newspaper. She was exceptionally skilled in sewing and handwork. Milly was a former member of the LAMA board, a Lawrence Central High School Mother’s Association. For many years, she was an active volunteer at St. Pius X Catholic Church serving as a Leader in the RCIA organization. Milly is survived by her husband of 67 years, Maurice “Maury” Risch, children Mark (Sue), Nancy Peinado (Chuck), Michael (Kathy), grandchildren Matthew, Alex, Samantha, Zoe, Ava, Mia, great-grandchildren Brennen, Aliece and brother, Hugh Thomas Forsha of Columbus, Ohio. Milly will be dearly missed for her beautiful smile, positive attitude and welcoming manner. A funeral Mass will be held on July 23, 2020, at 1:00pm at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 7200 Sarto Drive, Indianapolis with visitation from noon until time of service. (Masks and social distancing protocol will be in place). A private, family internment will follow the service at Our Lady of Peace cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Talking Book at Indiana State Library or St. Joseph Indian School, P.O. Box 326, Chamberlain, SD 57326.
