She attended School 86 and enjoyed her summers growing up at Moss Lake Camp, where she was both a camper and counselor. Nancy attended Shortridge High School and was an active member of the class of 1957. She and her husband Larry were integral to the planning of many successful Shortridge High School reunions. They became reacquainted at their own class reunion in 1997 and married in 1998. Nancy attended Purdue University where she majored in elementary education. She was and continues to be a proud member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority where she met some of her oldest and dearest friends. Nancy was always excited to write a recommendation letter for anyone who wanted to pledge Kappa. She was especially thrilled to learn that her granddaughter Abby just became a Kappa. After graduating from Purdue in 1961, Nancy married David L Arbuckle and had two children Anne Arbuckle Collins and John Arbuckle. Nancy worked as an elementary school teacher and later served as President of the Junior League of Indianapolis. She managed the Junior League Trust Fund for many years, and served as chairman of the Holiday Mart, the primary fundraiser of the Junior League, which continues to be very well attended today. Nancy enjoyed watching Anne and John play basketball and soccer, respectively, while they attended The Orchard School and Brebeuf Preparatory School. She volunteered her time at both schools for many years following. Nancy also enjoyed working with her sister Katie at Katie‘s retail gift store. After marrying, Nancy and Larry started a cruise planning business and enjoyed traveling and cruising with their friends as well as spending time in Florida. Nancy was a huge sports fan. She loved watching her Purdue Boilermakers and the Purdue Marching Band. She and Larry were season ticket holders to Purdue football games for many years, rarely missing a game. Nancy also loved spending time in Wisconsin with the family and her grandchildren, whom she cherished. Nancy was a frequent spectator at many of her grandchildren’s football games, lacrosse games, and swim meets.
