Patricia T. O'Drobinak (Pat) departed this earth peacefully on June 14, 2022 at home surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Alice Terry, her older sister, Barbara M. Thompson in 2019, her older brother, Frederick Davis Terry III in 2020 and her son Thomas in 2022. She is survived by her husband, Charles and four children, Charles III, residing in Tokyo, Japan with his wife Junko and their daughter Renee, citizen of London, England, daughter Susan Wright and her son Matthew of Indianapolis, daughter Nancy Links and her husband Gary of Indianapolis, and their children, Lauren and husband Roy Blumenfeld and their two children, Gabriel & Benjamin, of Hastings-On-Hudson New York and Andrew Links, New York, deceased son Thomas’ wife Joni of Indianapolis and Cerebral Palsied son Richard of Indianapolis. Pat was born in New Orleans, Louisiana at Hotel Dieu Hospital on August 26, 1931 to Fred and Alice Terry. Her family soon moved to Covington, Louisiana where she graduated from Covington High School after excelling in both her studies and cheerleading. Thereafter, her family moved to Hammond, Louisiana where she attended Southeastern Louisiana College. Her excellent grades in the field of education allowed her to finish her Bachelor of Arts Degree in just 3 years. The College awarded their Les Mesdames Award for her outstanding first year performance. She was a member of Kappa Rho sorority for most of her college career and had the honor of being named the "Sweetheart of Kappa Rho". She began work on an advanced degree at Louisiana State University after graduating, but she paused her studies to marry Charles O'Drobinak on May 30, 1953 at Holy Ghost Catholic church in Hammond, Louisiana. She moved to Bloomington, Indiana with her new husband as he was pursuing his MBA. Their first son, Charles III, was born at Bloomington Hospital on April 28, 1954. The new family briefly moved to Whiting, Indiana, but before long, her husband was drafted into the U.S. Army. The family spent the next two years at Pine Bluff Arsenal, Arkansas. Their second child Susan Lynn was born there on August 11, 1955. Following her husband’s military duty, Pat moved with her growing family back to Whiting, Indiana. Their next three children were born in Gary Methodist Hospital: Nancy Joan on May 28, 1957, Thomas John on July 2, 1958 and Richard Alan on May 14, 1962. Pat proved herself more than capable of raising this group of youngsters while her husband traveled out of town on business. She moved to Indianapolis in 1969 where her husband was transferred to open an office for his firm, Price Waterhouse & Co. Despite dedicating her time to raising her five children, she found time to be active in a number of organizations. She became the school librarian at St. Luke Catholic School for many years and was a board member with Right to Life of Indianapolis, where she chaired the organization’s annual fund drive for a number of years. She was also a member of the Catholic organization of Legatus, the St. Augustine Guild, as well as the Procter Club of Indianapolis, where she was the Treasurer of that group. She was a volunteer in a number of other entities, including Home and School Groups, St. Augustine Home for the Aged, People of Vision, Parent Information and Resource Center, Cerebral Palsy Clinic, Trade Winds Rehabilitation Center and the Indianapolis Symphony Women’s Committee. She also loved to play doubles tennis and 9 hole golf. Most of all she loved being a Grandmother. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Florence Haase-Hinds, our resident care taker, several other care takers from Marian University, and all the loving hospice staff of Paradigm Health. A Mass of Catholic Burial will be held on Friday, June 17, 2022 at 11:30am at St. Luke Catholic Church, 7575 Holliday Drive, Indianapolis. Friends may call at St. Luke Catholic Church in the Father Courtney Room from 10am to 11:30am preceding the Mass.
