I get this is late, but my dad can be cherished by many people and especially me. I he helped me so much in life, especially when I came to major trouble in school. He was a man I needed in life, gone too soon. I remember the last night I saw him, we played hockey. Me, him and my brother Arie. While my mom was outside gardening, we had fun that night and I couldn’t have asked for more.

Once again, folk have been presented with the fact time is long, but life is short. When one lives it as Paul did, a full life lived is revealed.

Condolences to Paul's family and friends on his departing this life. For Paul, I offer my salute and prayer: Eternal rest grant unto Paul Edward Ziliak, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.
May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.  ~Amen~

Paul was one in a million.   I met Paul when he worked for the Sherriffs Dept.  I worked at Lawrence Police Dept.   Due to the way the county was laid out there were many runs that would overlap the two depts.  We became fast friends!  

Paul was that guy that when someone saw him walk up at a run he had that look where people knew they probably shouldn't mess with him.  Even though most of us knew he was just a great big teddy bear!  Paul always had my back and if he ever heard me on a run with potential danger he was there to back me up without even calling.   

We had some great times working together and after shift Paul,  Jason Baker,  Jerry Durham, Jeff Dunn and myself would sometimes just hang out and tell stories on each other.  Sometimes 
we would  just shoot the breeze till we all calmed down enough after shift that we were all ready to go to our homes and go to bed.

I am so sorry for your loss because Paul is one of those that cannot ever be replaced.  I am glad you have so many fond memories with him, don'tever let those memories die. I hate that he was taken from this earth way too soon and taken away from his fairytale ending but I am glad he met the love of his life and had you and the boys.  That's all he used to say that he ever wanted. 

Paul you will be forever missed.  I am sure Jason will be at the gates to welcome you home.   Keep out of trouble up there and I look forward to when we will be reconnected down the road. 

I love Paul! We shared the same bus in elementary school living in Lancaster and going to grassy creek elem. I always envied him living in a Rylan home🙂.

Then he played football in high school and again I wished I could connect and be more like Paul. When my career led to fire alarm service I connected with Paul at Hyatt when he was chief of security! Again I wanted to connect more. I'm sorry I could not connect better, I wish your family the best! 

I'll always remember the cowboy boots and striped shirt tucked into his blue jeans and leather belt with huge buckle that made him Paul. I love Paul 😔.


Paul and I shared the same position at EZPawn. We worked together for years, even though we worked at different stores, he would always lend a helping hand any way that he could. He was always outgoing and had a way of lifting the spirits of everyone. He will truly be missed by all of us. 

I worked with Paul as a fellow Kroger employee at the store at 71st and Binford.  I was just starting with Kroger and he welcomed me to the company and was always a very nice person.  I learned later he was a fellow class of 91 graduate at Warren Central.  Prayers and comfort to his family and friends. 

I remember coming into the ezpawn, just trying to get a loan because my job at the time was sucky. Paul asked me why I was getting a loan, and I told him how crappy my job was and how crappy they treated me. He looked at me and said, "Oh, so you're looking for a job." I wasn't at the time, but I listened to him and filled out the job application. The rest is history. We worked together almost 5 years, and I looked up to him as not only a mentor but a family member. I needed any advice; he was the first one I talked to. I knew I could depend on him even though he picked on me daily, whether it was about my t-rex arms or my lack of cordination that that was how he showed he cared. 

I first met Paul when he was working loss prevention at JCPenney at Washington Square. Paul was one of the nicest guys I have ever met. Rest in peace brother!

Working County East, I always knew if we got wrapped up in something with Paul, there was going to be some humor involved.  He was hilarious!  Never failed to bring a smile to my face!  One bad guy looked at Paul and I and said "is you two brothers?"  Paul popped of with " Well, ya...All fat bald guys in uniform are brothers, now shut up and get in the jail wagon"  Miss those days, and he will be missed.  Rest in peace brother!

I remember when you came to my house to pick up your German shepherd puppy (eva) and your son had gotten car sick and was outside with Paul....I felt good because I know my puppy was going to a very loving home and she would be taken care of and still see pictures of her and her own puppies....I have no words except Paul will be your guardian angel and he will always be with you and your family and I  send hugs and prayers to you all❤
