Roy peacefully passed Sunday, October 3, 2021 at the age of 91. The retired Pharmacist was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Winnie. Born in Chicago Illinois, he moved to Indianapolis in the early 1930s. A lifetime Indianapolis resident, Roy was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and the Elks Club. Roy held many executive positions in the Indiana Association of Retail Pharmacists. He was an Honorary Lifetime Member of the Antelope Club and Speedway Golf Club. For the last 3 years, Roy has been living comfortably with family in Fenton, Michigan. Roy is survived by his brothers Mario and Joe Minatel, sister Rosie (Minatel) Eagan, sons, Anthony (Michelle) Minatel and Victor (Laura) Minatel and his loving grandchildren Haley, Alyssa, Michael and Dante Minatel. A proud patriot, Roy served in the US Army during the Korean War. Roy was sponsored by Stroh Brewing Company, and his nightly ritual was to drink a can of Stroh’s and to enjoy a glass of red wine with dinner. He will be missed. Visitation for Roy will be held Monday, October 11, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Leppert Mortuaries – Nora, 740 East 86th St, Indianapolis, Indiana 46240. Mass of Christian Burial will occur Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at 11:30 AM at St. Luke Catholic Church, 7575 Holliday Drive East, Indianapolis, Indiana 46260. Roy will be laid to rest in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.leppertmortuarynora.com for the Minatel family.
