Sue Ann Hale, age 84, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 5, 2024. She was surrounded with love by her children. Sue was born in Lima, Ohio, on November 30, 1939, to her parents, Charles Mitchell and Mildred Lenoir Welsh.
Sue received her undergraduate degree from Miami University of Ohio and later received her Nursing degree from IUPUI in Indianapolis.
Sue was an active resident of Marquette Manor, served on the Welcoming Committee and was director for the library. She was also an active member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Sue enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed travelling, particularly to Hilton Head, SC to visit her sister and friend Karen (Bill) Diehl. She also looked forward to annual trips to Door County with her children and the Hale Family Reunions.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Bradford Hale, Jr, MD and her friend and former husband, Bradford Hale, Sr, MD. She is survived by children, Ann Hale, Karen (Bob) Yott, John Hale, Gretchen Hale; 4 grandchildren, Collette, Zach, Katie, Charlie; 3 great grandchildren, Bodhi, Jane and Pearl, her daughter in law, Lori Hale, and her wonderful sister, Karen Diehl.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, August 21, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Leppert Mortuary – Nora 740 East 86th St, Indianapolis, IN 46240. A funeral service will occur Thursday, August 22, 2024, at 11:00 AM at St Paul’s Episcopal Church, 6050 N. Meridian Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46208.
