Suzanne L. Hartmann

Suzanne was raised in Oak Park, Illinois. She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree at St. Mary’s College. She taught 5th grade in Illinois after raising her children. Teaching was a labor of love making an indelible impact on her students. Her greatest joy came from being a mother and grandmother otherwise known as Gram or Amma. After retirement, she spent so much of her time volunteering whether it was entertaining residents at retirement homes or singing for various services at St Pius Catholic Church. Suzanne’s faith was her compass.

She loved playing bridge with her friends, singing and travelling with White River Sound, visiting with her friends, and participating in many Red Hat club events.

Suzanne is survived by her children: Diane Desautels, Kathleen Desautels (Steve), Michael Desautels (Lori), Peggy Desautels, Mary Beth Desautels (Mark) and Joseph Desautels. Her grandchildren: Michael Teague, Andrew Desautels, Sarah Dorsey (Matt), Regan Desautels Cruz (Alexis), Jack Meyer, Lily Meyer, and her great grandchild Miles Dorsey. Her niece Emily Randle and nephew Vince Randle.

She is preceded in death by her father Oscar Hartmann, her mother Laverne O’Roarke, her sister Laverne Randle, and her brother, Vince Hartmann.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at 11:00am at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 7200 Sarto Drive, Indianapolis, IN. Visitation will begin at 10:00am.
