Teresa was a woman whose life was defined by love, compassion, and a faith that could be felt by everyone who met her. She passed away leaving behind a legacy of kindness, service, and unwavering devotion to people, especially those most often overlooked.
She is survived by her daughter, Shelby, her son, Braxton, their father, Rodney, her brother, Larry, her sisters, Beth and Susan, and her stepmother, Diane. Teresa cherished her family deeply, and her love for them was unconditional.
Teresa was an incredibly loving and nurturing mother. She always encouraged Shelby and Braxton, providing them with a foundation of love, support, and security. Her love and guidance shaped them into the remarkable people they are today, instilling in them values, guidance, and a strong sense of compassion.
Teresa truly never met a stranger. She had a way of making people feel safe, welcomed, and seen. Her faith was unmistakable. She carried herself in a way that showed warmth, faith in her principles, and generosity in her actions. She was, in every sense, the hands and feet of Jesus wherever she went.
If there was even the smallest opportunity to be a blessing, she embraced it wholeheartedly. Whether through a warm meal, a listening ear, a prayer, or simple companionship, she gave freely of herself for others. She believed that love, when given sincerely, had the power to change lives.
Teresa’s life experiences shaped a powerful testimony of grace and redemption. Through her years she developed a deep understanding of hardship and a profound empathy for others. Those traits became the foundation of her calling to serve, to encourage, and advocate for others.
For almost ten years, Teresa faithfully served in homeless camps, advocating for individuals experiencing hardship. She didn’t just help from a distance. She walked alongside people, listened to their stories, and stood up for their dignity. To her, everyone mattered, and no one was invisible. She believed deeply that everyone deserved compassion, a smile, and second chances.
Teresa’s life was a living example of faith in action. Her legacy is carried forward through the countless lives she touched, the hope she restored, and the love she so freely gave.
She will be remembered for her loving heart, her servant spirit, and her gentle strength. Though she will be deeply missed, those who loved her find comfort in knowing she is wrapped in the loving embrace of her Lord and Savior, and Father in heaven. Teresa’s light continues to shine through the lives she changed and the love that she leaves behind.
May her memory live on in those who were blessed to experience her love in this lifetime.
