TERESA LUGAR Teresa Rose (O’Connor) Lugar, 57, passed away June 09, 2022, surrounded by family. She was born on February 06, 1965 in Indianapolis as the 5th and youngest child of Paul and Rita (Hegarty) O’Connor. She attended St. Matthew Grade School and Bishop Chatard High School where she made lifelong friends. At Ball State University, she pledged Alpha Phi and met the love of her life, Scott Lugar. Teresa and Scott were married 34 years and raised their two children Ben and Megan in Carmel. She also found a second family with her coworkers at TEKsystems. Teresa’s home was a welcoming place where all Ben and Megan’s friends loved to hang out where she made the best mac and cheese and McDonald’s. Ben and Megan were active in tennis and ice hockey. Teresa loved being a hockey mom. She enjoyed volunteering and spent countless weekends driving them across the country to hockey camps, games, and tournaments. One of her favorite memories was meeting the U.S. Womens’ National Hockey team. Teresa also enjoyed camping, Christ the King festival, the Indy 500, riding bikes and kayaking with Scott, and relaxing at a lake or on a beach. She loved accessorizing, decorating for holidays, and hosting family and friends. She was beloved by all and considered the kindest person anyone ever met. Teresa was pre-deceased by her parents and father-in-law, Thomas Lugar. She is survived by her family Scott, Ben, and Megan, daughter-in-law Emily, and Jack her therapy dog; as well as her siblings Anne O’Connor, Ellen (David Margerum) O’Connor, Patrick (Suzanne) O’Connor, and Susan (Robert) Hill; her mother-in-law Sally Lugar and Scott’s siblings Todd (Linda) Lugar and Nancy (Paul) Fogle; and numerous nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. Calling will be at Christ the King Catholic Church, 5884 N. Crittenden Ave., Indianapolis, on Friday, June 17 from 10:00 am -12:00 pm, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 pm. After a burial service at Crown Hill Cemetery, all are invited to the Christ the King for refreshments.
