He attended the New Mexico School for the Deaf in Santa Fe, NM. WD worked at Slaten Brother’s Hardware and Auto Supply from 1958-1972. From 1975 to 1999, he was employed by the First Methodist Church of Portales.
He was a member of the Clovis Central Baptist Church where he attended Sunday School for the deaf. In August 2022, he moved to Whitestown, IN to be near his sister, Janet.
WD enjoyed living at Golden Acres and had many loving, caring friends in Portales.
He is survived by his sister, Janet B. Occhialini and brother-in-law, Navio Occhialini, Jr, of Carmel, Indiana.
