Alexander Francis “Sandy” MacDonald, 70, South West Margaree. “Your wings were ready our hearts were not”. It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Sandy on Dec. 30th, 2017 at home in Egypt. Sandy was born on August 3, 1947 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, the eldest child of the late Alexander Jerome (1993) and Lurline Marion (Murphy) MacDonald (2011). He was a long-time resident of Margaree and divided his time over the years between there and Halifax. He began his career working for Russ Spence when Bridgeview Subdivision was being built in Rockingham in the 1960s, and later worked for, among others, Bernie Fancy, Standard Paving, Martell’s and finished his career with Dexter Construction of Bedford where he worked as a Heavy Duty Master Mechanic / Crane Operator. He loved snowmobiling and always looked forward to the winter snow fall. Over the years he enjoyed farming, fishing, hunting and spending time at the camp. He was always there for family and friends and was only a phone call away if you needed a helping hand. He will be missed and lovingly remembered by all who met him.
He is survived by his children, Eliott (Sherry), Londonderry, NH.; Ella, Halifax; his grandchildren, Amanda, Kayla and Vanessa, Londonderry, NH.; his brothers and sisters, Hugh (Linda), Trenton; Margie (d.
